Jun 2016: Hague and London Oil (Maghreb Exploration) announced the acquisition of Premier Oil (SADR) which holds interests in 5 exploration licence areas in the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic; Daora (50%), Haouza (50%), Mahbes (50%), Mijek (50%) and Laguera (100%). Once the transaction is complete Maghreb will be transferred to Vermeer Exploration.
2015
Mar 2015: Kosmos Energy (operator, 55%) reported that the CB-1 exploration well (Al Khayr Prospect) in 2,135m of water in the Cap Boujdour block within the frontier Aaiun Basin penetrated 14m of net gas and condensate pay but the discovery is non-commercial and the well will be plugged and abandoned. Partners are ONHYM (25%) and Cairn (20%).

Mar 2014: The Government of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) has awarded a PSC over the onshore Bir Lahlou Block to Red Rio Petroleum. The block lies in the northeast corner of the Territory of Western Sahara in the area controlled by the Polisario Front, which leads the Government of the SADR. The block overlies part of the Paleozoic Tindouf Basin.
Feb 2014: Morocco has joined Total and Kosmos to formally pledge that their hunt for oil off the coast of Western Sahara will comply with international rules and the local population would benefit. Morocco has issued exploration licences for blocks in the Atlantic waters and Kosmos has said it plans to drill its first exploration well in 2014.
