2018

Oct 2018: Savannah announced the Zomo-1 exploration well as an oil discovery, the 5th consecutive discovery in the R3 portion of the R3/R4 PSC Area in the Agadem Rift Basin, South East Niger. Following the results of the 5 wells, Savannah will conduct additional seismic processing of the area. A new drilling campaign is expected to commence in early 2019.

Aug 2018: Savannah Petroleum announced that the Eridal-1 exploration well is an oil discovery, the fourth consecutive discovery in the R3 portion of the R3/R4 PSC Area in the Agadem Rift basin southeastern Niger. Eridal-1 is being suspended for future production tests and the rig will mobilize to the Zomo-1 well site.

Jul 2018: Savannah announced the Kunama-1 exploration well as a light oil discovery in the R3 portion of the R3/R4 PSC Area in the Agadem Rift Basin. Kunama-1 is suspended for future re-entry. The GW 215 rig will now mobilise to the Eridal-1 well site also on R3.

Jun 2018: Savannah announced that the Amdigh-1 exploration well has discovered oil in the E1 and E2 reservoir units within the Eocene Sokor Alternances objective. The well has been suspended for future re-entry and the rig will mobilize to the Kunama-1 well site. Amdigh-1 is located on the R3 portion of the R3/R4 PSC Area in the Agadem Rift Basin.

Apr 2018: Savannah announced the Bushiya-1 exploration well, on the R3 portion of the R3/R4 PSC Area in the Agadem Basin as a light oil discovery. It encountered 10m of net oil-bearing sandstones across two intervals in the primary Eocene Sokor Alternances objective. Bushiya-1 is being suspended for future re-entry. The rig will now move to the Amdigh well site 6kms from Bushiya.

Mar 2018: Savannah Petroleum provided an update on operations ahead of its 3-well drilling campaign on the R3 portion of the R3/R4 PSC Area in the Agadem Basin. The construction of the Bushiya well pad has been completed with drilling to commence soon. Well pad construction for the second well, Amdigh, is underway. The 3rd well will be at the Kunama site.

2017

Apr 2017: A 3-well drilling campaign is planned for the R3 PSC following the R3 East seismic survey. The wells will be drilled with Great Wall’s rig GW215 already in Niger. A logistics camp and pipe yard is being built near the Jaouro airstrip. Operations are expected to commence in August 2017.

Jan 2017: Savannah Petroleum has completed its 3D seismic acquisition over an 800 sq km area of the R3 license in the southeast of the country.

2016

Feb 2016: Savannah announced it has signed a framework contract with BGP for the provision of seismic acquisition services in the southeast of the country. BGP will undertake a 2D and 3D seismic survey across the R1/R2 and R3/R4 PSC license areas in the first half of 2016.

2015

May 2015: Savannah Petroleum has delineated 14 prospects with potential oil resources of 215 mm bbls. This follows 3D seismic mapping over the R1/R2 permit region within the Agadem Rift Basin in the southeast of the country. An additional 37 leads have been mapped. Savannah is planning further seismic acquisition and commencement of a drilling campaign.
