Jan 2025: Botala Energy will supply LNG to FFS Refiners in South Africa using its CBM resources from the Serowe wellfield. A gas sales agreement (GSA) will be executed in February. Phase 1 will be 18.25 thousand (m) tpa by 2026, supported by new infrastructure at Serowe, with Phase 2 production capacity set to reach over 73 mtpa by 2028.

Apr 2023: Tlou Energy announced that work has begun on the next phase of drilling at the Lesedi Gas-to-Power CBM project. The Lesedi 6 gas production pod at a depth of 59m will be one vertical well intersected by two horizontal lateral wells. Lesedi 6 is southwest of the Lesedi 4 gas production pod.

Jun 2020: Renaissance Oil will acquire an option for 50% in a Petroleum Licence covering 2.45 million acres in the Kavango sedimentary basin. The Kavango basin is a previously unrecognised, deep basin holding Karoo-age sediments in northwestern Botswana and northeastern Namibia.
2019
Mar 2019: Tlou Energy was awarded a new prospecting licence (PL011/2019 or Boomslang) on trend with the Lesedi CBM Project . It covers around 1,000 sq kms and is valid for an initial term of 3 years.
Feb 2019: Tlou Energy has completed drilling of the Lesedi 3 development pod at its CBM project with lateral wells Lesedi 3A and Lesedi 3B intersecting with vertical well Lesedi 3P to complete the pod. The drilling rig will now commence drilling of the second development pod, Lesedi 4.
Jan 2019: Tlou Energy’s Lesedi gas-to-power project using CBM announced that Production Pod lateral well drilling has commenced prior to installation of surface production facilities. The Project has sufficient 2P gas reserves (1.2 bcm) for an initial development of 10MW. Wells are being drilled as 3 dual lateral pods comprising a vertical well intersected by two horizontal wells.

Nov 2018: Strata-X Energy has received approval of its Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and can now move forward with its 2019 2-well drilling campaign on its Serowe CSG Project (100%).

Feb 2016: Tlou Energy has recommenced production testing at the Lesedi CBM project (Selemo Pilot). The objective of this longer term test is to gather reservoir engineering data to model the coal reservoir properties. These data will also be used to plan the location of additional flanking wells for the Selemo area.
